My question would be is Kid Rock being facetious, or is he saying in essence what's the difference between a pair of designer pants or downloading music wrongfully? Or is he completely serious? Since I can't tell he is on my boycott list until he clears it up.

If Kid Rock is being facetious - I don't see anything funny in the promotion of theft, stealing, burglary or larceny. Jail time can seriously alter a person's idea of where they think their life should go - such as obtaining a good paying job.

Is there a difference between downloading music wrongfully or ripping off a pair of designer jeans - or ripping off your friends and family? The answer is No.

Is he completely serious?

Young people do not need any encouragement to rip stuff off with a seemingly celebrity ok like this. (Not that Kid Rock is any kind of person to really look up to on any good day.)

I used to be a thief when I was a young person - I have repented of it, and see the wrongness in my doing that - so I know.
