Kathy Griffin-Newest Edition To My Boycott list

Note: I edited this article a bit due to how foul what was said by Griffin is.

EMMY WINNER KATHY GRIFFIN: “S#.# IT, JESUS, THIS AWARD IS MY GOD NOW”
.
September 10, 2007
.
On September 8, at the 59th Annual Creative Arts Emmy Awards, comedian Kathy Griffin won Outstanding Reality Program for her Bravo show, “My Life on the D-List.” In her acceptance speech, Griffin said, “S#.# it, Jesus, this award is my God now.” Fox will televise the Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday, September 16 from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.

.
Catholic League president Bill Donohue responded as follows:

.
“Mel Gibson. Michael Richards. Isaiah Washington. Imus. Jerry Lewis. Every time a celebrity offends a segment of the population, he pays a price, in one way or another. The question now is whether Kathy Griffin will pay a similar price for her outburst. And as we have learned, her verbal assault was calculated.

.
“In an interview with Houston’s gay magazine, OutSmart, Griffin described herself as a ‘complete militant atheist.’ Unfortunately, her kind of vulgar in-your-face brand of hate speech found a receptive audience on Saturday: The Hollywood Reporter says her foul remark ‘drew laughs.’

.
“It is incumbent upon Dick Askin, chairman and chief executive officer of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, to denounce Griffin’s obscene and blasphemous comment; a statement should also be read on Sunday. After all, it is his organization that is responsible for the Creative Arts Emmy event. Moreover, given the way the Hollywood crowd received Griffin’s remark, it falls to Askin to distance the Academy from this outrageous incident. We are contacting Griffin’s agent as well.

.
“It is sure bet that if Griffin had said, ‘S#.# it, Muhammad,’ there would have been a very different reaction from the crowd and from the media who covered this event. To say nothing of the Muslim reaction.”

ACADEMY TO CENSOR KATHY GRIFFIN; SHE STILL NEEDS TO APOLOGIZE
.
September 11, 2007
.
Responding to complaints from the Catholic League, the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has decided to censor the vulgar remarks that comedian Kathy Griffin made when receiving her Creative Arts Emmy for her show, “My Life on the D-List.” Last Saturday, Griffin, upon winning the award for Outstanding Reality Program, blurted out a scripted remark, “S#.# it, Jesus, this award is my God now.”

.
The Associated Press reports today that Griffin’s comment will be censored from the taped airing of the awards ceremony this Saturday on E! On Sunday, Fox will carry the live Primetime Emmy Awards show.

.
(Note: E! has been on my boycott list for awhile now.)
.
Catholic League president Bill Donohue had this to say about the news:

.
“The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences reacted responsibly to our criticism of Kathy Griffin’s verbal assault on 85 percent of the U.S. population. The ball is now in Griffin’s court. The self-described ‘complete militant atheist’ needs to make a swift and unequivocal apology to Christians. If she does, she will get this issue behind her. If she does not, she will be remembered as a foul-mouthed bigot for the rest of her life.”

It makes no difference to me if she apologizes or not. Her comment is totally unacceptable to me, and I don't support individuals who are antichrist. She can have her temporal 'god', and I do not have to buy, or support, any of her stuff.
.
Some of these individuals out of Hollywood seem to think that they can say and do whatever they like without regard to other people's feelings or dearly held beliefs.
.
Maybe it's time that they are seen for who they really are - for the offensive and rude individuals that they really are.
.
Maybe if Satan did anything right - which he generally doesn't - he could start to have a field day reaking havoc in the Hollywood community by shedding 'light' on many of these individuals. He accuses, and tears down, really well.
.
That would have my vote.

What is wrong with ALL OF YOU?
The article I read this morning that you E! be editing the comments from Kathy Griffin show just how low of a channel E! has become, and you all are in their league. The authors of our constitution would be rolling over in their grave if they read your "arguments." You are actually invoking the name of Mohammed to invoke the righteousneous of your position. Do you not see the ridiculousness of your alleged piety? Does the name Larry Craig ring a bell. I always wonder what those who fear free speech are really fearing, especially when the speech comes from a comedian known for making jokes just to create a reaction. Have you nothing better to do? Go invoke the name of Jesus and Mohammed in stopping the insane war in Irag and forget the comments of a comedian who won an award for her creativity for making exactly the kind of jokes you are "freaking out" about.
In E's pandering to those who seek to silence anywho who dare jokes about the "holy" religion, it is violating the consitution by using the voice of the people, the media, designed to spread free expression of ideas for thought, to silence such voices. How serious do you and E! have to be where you can't even allow a comedian to joke about God without "boycotting" her. Perhaps we should throw her in to Guantanamo with all the other infidels and torture her until she is bloody and demeaned. Yes, she made a joke. How ignorant does one have be to think that Kathy Griffin, A COMEDIAN-AND THIS IS EXTREMELY WORTHY OF MENTIONING, is going to do anything but make a tasteless joke, which is what she is known for and why she won the Emmy after all. Why should E! reward you with boycotts and censorship. I am certain Jesus had a better sense of humor than you. Rather than Boycotting Kathy Griffin, I call for a Boycott of the Emmys. Let's see how outraged E!s sponsors get and if you find the similar studity in calling for a Boycott meets your "feel good about God" test. You nor the Catholic League, who led the way for this outrage, don't represent any Catholics who have a sense of humor, INCLUDING KATHY GRIFFIN, a Catholic. What is this world coming to?
